Ahead Receives Journey to Private Cloud Award

Ahead was named the Best Cloud Computing Collaboration Partner, one of four EMC customers and partners honored with a 2010 Journey to the Private Cloud Award. As one of the fastest growing solution providers focused on the data center, Ahead has developed innovative methodologies and invested in a multi-million dollar lab for testing, demonstrating, and delivering integrated solutions from EMC, VMware, and Cisco to drive private cloud enablement for its clients.

The 2010 Journey awards recognized customers and partners that embraced EMC and VMware technologies to further innovation, performance, and business value between September 1, 2009 and August 1, 2010. The company received numerous customer and partner nominations, which were reviewed by representatives from EMC, VMware, Virtual Strategy Magazine, and ReadWriteCloud.

“Organizations of all sizes and across industries are accelerating their journey to the cloud and are already experiencing improved agility and increased cost savings,” said Jeremy Burton, EMC’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer. “We’re pleased to honor Ahead and other industry-leading organizations. By far, EMC has the most integrated solutions support for VMware environments, so we look forward to continuing to work with all our customers and partners as they embrace EMC and VMware on their journey to the private cloud.”

“Ahead was purpose-built with a vision of the private cloud as the data center’s future and a goal of helping clients successfully transition there. We are thrilled to accept this award, seeing it as a validation of both our vision and our ability to build solutions to help clients improve overall data center performance and operations,” said Dan Adamany, Ahead’s president.

In addition to being an award recipient, Ahead was one of a select number of EMC’s Velocity² partners participating in the EMC Velocity² Partner Pavilion at VMworld. There Ahead showcased its integrated and customized solutions using EMC and VMware technology.

“The goal is not merely to virtualize the data center to lower cost, streamline operations, and improve business response, but to transform the business by transforming how IT is built, operated, and consumed to provide what’s needed when it’s needed. The VCE coalition brings together the technology and the processes necessary to achieve these goals and maximize the benefits of the cloud,” Adamany added.
